1. Capt. Daniel Harris Born: 1618 Landed: 1644 Married: 1645 Middletown Ct. Mary Weld Died: Nov. 30, 1708 or 1701 1643 Daniel Harris had settled in Rowly Mass about 35 miles north of Boston. He was a wheelwright by trade. 1652 He sold out and removed to Middletown, Ct. There he located his homestead of 5 acres on east side of Main Street a few rods south of the present College Street and extending east to the great river. 1659 Feb 23. At a session of General Court held on this date, Daniel Harris is approved for an ordinary keeper in Middletown. 1661 was a Lieutenant. was elected Captain of the train band He was deputy to General Court in 1678, 1684, 1687, and 1689
